God’s Supernatural Power Is Working in You Now

CN505 power station. Just the word inspires thoughts of victory, strength and energy. People with power have influence, control and authority. Power helps us accomplish our goals and realize our dreams.

Most of us were raised on stories of superheroes, men and women who had supernatural power to defend the helpless, defeat villains and overcome enormous obstacles. Ahh, we dreamed. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we had that kind of power? And off we’d go with a red cape, beach towel or pillow case tied around our shoulders.

Well, you do have power! It is part of your inheritance as a child of God. But ye shall receive power after the Holy Ghost is come upon you (Acts 1:8). That supernatural power wasn’t just for the Apostles or those in the Upper Room. It’s for every believer. When God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power (Acts 10:38), what did Jesus do? He went about doing good, like the mythical superheroes of your childhood. He healed, delivered, set captives free, and defeated the Villain at every turn.

Study the Word

Jesus explained how His power worked when He taught that the Word is like a seed. Hebrews 4:12 AMP says it is alive and full of power–making it active, operative, energizing and effective. It actually contains the power to fulfill itself, just as a seed can reproduce and recreate. In the Book of John, He said “The words that I speak unto you, they are spirit and they are life [creative force or power]” (v. 6:63).

Every time you read The Word or hear it preached, you receive a fresh dose of God’s power in your spirit. The Bible describes The Word as medicine and healing. The more time you spend in The Word, the stronger the dose. Whether you need healing, deliverance, provision or some other need met, God’s power is available to supply all your need (Phil. 4:19). How? By believing and acting on His Word as Truth. Thy Word is truth.

Jesus declared that you have power to move mountains. No matter how big you think your mountain is (debt, illness, lack), you can overcome it with super-doses of God’s Word. If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, ‘Remove hence to yonder place, and it shall remove. And nothing shall be impossible unto you (Matt. 17:20). Now that’s supernatural power!
